Professionalism

The standard for professionalism ensures that teachers maintain a professional demeanor in every aspect of teaching. Professionalism is an important standard, because it promotes responsibility, growth, and positive working relationships between teachers, parents, and students. Professionalism results in respect, effective rules, and efficient procedures that create a great learning environment for students. As a teaching professional, I remain current on history education, participate in the teaching community, and promote education through history and preservation at the local level.

Local Organizations
I am deeply passionate about local history and preservation efforts. I promote civic responsibility in the classroom and model the same values in my daily life. The Mosby Heritage Area Association is located near my hometown and provides educational events for local communities. As a member, I am able to discuss local history with my students, assist with preservation efforts, and help create a better community.
