Learning Environment

The learning environment standard advocates for a classroom environment where rules, procedures, and general classroom culture promote both student and teacher success. A positive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported is crucial to a growth mindset and active participation in learning. My classroom environment will encourage productive classroom behavior and support our current learning goals. I will maintain a positive learning environment in my classroom by providing daily structure, support for each student, and provide additional resources that engage students.

Structure
I provide structure to my classroom through consistent and clear classroom management policies. My detailed policies and procedures can be found here. My rules and daily agenda will be clearly displayed in the room throughout the year.

Support
I want my classroom to be a safe, nurturing environment for my students. I frequently hang student projects in the classroom and give students the opportunity to make their mark on my classroom.

World Geography researched, constructed, and tested kites during our Asia units. World History I researched and created mosaics as an introduction to the Byzantine Empire.

Additional Resources
I love to share my passion for history with my students, and I frequently bring in additional readings and other enrichment materials to share with my classes.

I brought in books on Asian religions during our South Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia units. I brought in art history books, language books, and military history novels for World History I.
